Study: Oceans have cooled in recent years

What? How can that be? I thought the world was melting, just ask Richard Branson

According to LiveScience.com "Despite the long term warming trend seen around the globe the oceans have cooled in the last three years, scientists announced today." You know I'm not a rocket scientist but how can the earth be warming and the oceans be cooling at the same time? hmm makes you wonder!

"The capacity of Earth's oceans to store the sun's energy is more than 1,000 times that of Earth's atmosphere," Lyman said. "It's important to measure upper ocean temperature, since 84 percent of the heat absorbed by Earth since the mid-1950s has gone toward warming the ocean. So if the data is correct than the earth is actually cooling not warming up!
