Charter Arms Statement on 2013 Recent Connecticut Gun Prohibition Bill

News
For 49 years, Charter Arms has taken great pride in employing American craftsmen in the heart of New England's 'Gun Valley' working closely with countless local vendors throughout the state of Connecticut.

As a local business, entrenched in the community, we support numerous charitable causes and we would be remiss to not take into account the economic hardship to our employees, vendors and the impact to the area if we departed the state of Connecticut.

We believe the recently enacted Gun Prohibition Bill was written and passed in haste by legislators, who reacted with emotional rather than rational accountability. Charter Arms will oppose this unjust legislation and will continue to support the Second Amendment rights of responsible law-abiding Americans to keep and bear arms. Blaming innocent people for the actions that criminals perform is unacceptable.

We will not sell our products to any Connecticut government agency or law enforcement departments, but only to federally licensed distributors and retailers who then sell the product to the public after a law enforcement background check using FBI files to verify the buyer is not prohibited from owning a firearm.
